Since 2002,
Project Dance has been presenting open air dance concerts in our world’s major cities including New York City, Los Angeles, Sydney, Atlanta, Hong Kong, and Toronto. Singapore, London, South Africa and Houston are in future plans.
Dancers, teachers, choreographers, students and over 300 volunteers make these annual events possible.
We invite you to join the movement in 2009 as we dance with integrity to inspire.

Project Dance Event Overview
FRIDAY
CHECK-IN
EARLY AFTERNOON
Participating dancers gather for final registration where they meet the staff, check-in with stage managers, dance class coordinators, outreach leaders, and media directors in order to finalize their weekend activities. Dancers also receive goodie bags which include an event t-shirt, welcome package, area information and give-aways.
THE PROJECT DANCE EXPO
EARLY AFTERNOON
Participating dancers mingle with one another as well as leading choreographers, dance directors, and area professionals who offer future opportunities to attending dancers. Building community is a cornerstone of Project Dance’s commitment to see dancers capture their next opportunity in the ever-changing world of dance.
PROJECT DANCE LIVE
EARLY EVENING
Kicking off any Project Dance event is Project Dance Live. Area professional companies perform their latest works, top dance artists are interviewed throughout the evening and all questions are answered about the remainder of the weekend’s events. Participants enjoy music, dance, free gifts, and gain wisdom from those dancers who are out there making a career of dance.
PROJECT DANCE MUSICAL CONCERT
LATE EVENING
No Project Dance event would be the complete without our specialized musical concert. This optional event is geared to the dancer who desires to meet with God. Dancers and event volunteers take in the sounds of the soul as all prepare for the all-day outdoor dance concert on Saturday.

OUTDOOR DANCE CONCERT
The centerpiece of every Project Dance event is our open-air dance concert. Historically, we have taken dance out of the studios and theaters and onto the streets-making dance accessible to anyone and everyone. This family friendly concert desires to bring hope and healing to hearts through the universal language of dance.
Jazz, Modern, Ballet, Tap, Hip Hop, Acrobatics, Lyrical, Ballroom, and Swing have all graced our stages. Every style is welcome-what unites dancers who gather for Project Dance is a belief that dance has the power to change lives. Art has a way of reaching our inner most being and the dances presented reflect that belief.

LEADERSHIP DINNER
Following the dance concert, leaders are invited to attend a casual dinner. This gives area leaders an opportunity to meet and further discuss the future of dance in their unique city.
Participating dancers enjoy a free evening. We encourage dancers to attend a local dance concert or theatrical show as a way of learning what is being presented on our world stages.

INSPIRATIONAL GATHERING
What better way to begin a Sunday morning than with a little inspiration? This optional gathering always proves to be many of the dancers’ favorite event of the weekend. Hear stories of how dance impacted the public, share songs that reflect our core beliefs, and get energized by a motivational message by one of our dance leaders.

MASTER DANCE CLASS SERIES
Training is the central discipline of every dancer. Project Dance values and supports training that allows any level of dancer to stretch and grow their craft. We are always excited about our teaching staff which include professionals from Broadway, The Radio City Rockettes, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Martha Graham Dance Company, just to name a few. Project Dance is committed to bringing its dancers the very best training from people who teach from a place of respect and personal integrity.
Registration
The registration fee varies from city to city. Please print out a registration form so that you can find the fee for the city that you are interested in. The fee includes all of the above activities plus all registration materials. It does not include hotel, food, or transportation.

While Project Dance does not require you to stay in a particular hotel we advise that you stay as close to the TIMES SQUARE area as possible.
Booking a room in advance is a good idea. Rooms go fast in New York and you can usually cancel within days without being charged the room rate. Simply ask about the cancellation policy before booking so that if for some reason you find another hotel or change your plans you can release your room without any penalty.
You can also log onto www.expedia.com and search for hotels in the midtown Manhattan area. Hotels between 40th-50th Streets on Broadway/6th Ave./7th Ave./or 8th Ave. are ideal since you can walk to all related events throughout the weekend.
