Mission
The Carolina Snowbelles, a program of The Project Dance Foundation, is a precision dance troupe based in the High Country of North Carolina, founded in 2015. Dedicated to training and encouraging local dancers ages 9 and up, the troupe offers rigorous instruction in the unique style of precision dance—a discipline that blends elements of tap, jazz, and ballet while instilling teamwork, confidence, mentorship, and community engagement. Dancers rehearse three hours each week and perform at local events, holiday shows, and area schools. Participation in the troupe is awarded through a selective audition process and is offered as a full scholarship, making it an accessible and prestigious opportunity for young artists.

Vision
Serving as both a training ground and audition platform for the company, Kick It Up is a 5-day summer intensive designed for dancers with at least three years of formal training. The program features a professional faculty offering instruction in ballet, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, modern, and precision technique. Kick It Up plays a vital role in the recruitment and development of new Snowbelles, as the annual audition for the company takes place during the intensive. New members selected from this program are awarded full scholarships into The Carolina Snowbelles, continuing the Foundation’s mission of excellence, access, and artistic growth. The troupe performs in an annual stage show called A Carolina Snowbelle Christmas in December at The Appalachian Theatre of the High Country in Boone,NC.
